Named for the national flower.
Cattleya takes its name from Colombia's national flower, and the choice is deliberate. Just as the orchid is known for its beauty and delicate floral character, this coffee was created to showcase the vibrant acidity, balanced sweetness and refined floral notes that define the region.
Rather than relying on a single producer, the lot is assembled from smallholder farmers across the Tequendama province of Cundinamarca and the Lengupá province of Boyacá — coffees selected to capture the character of Colombia's Eastern Andes while holding the profile our customers already know and trust.
Coffee here grows between 1,200 and 2,000 metres above sea level, where high elevation, abundant rainfall and a patchwork of microclimates create ideal conditions. Many of these farms average less than a single hectare. That scale is the point: it is craftsmanship at the level of a family plot, aggregated carefully enough to be dependable harvest after harvest.

Clarity, on purpose.
Careful washed processing is what lets a coffee this layered read clearly instead of muddling together.
Smallholders pick by hand across steep, small plots — the only way to harvest ripe on this terrain.
Fruit is removed soon after picking so the sugars ferment in a controlled, clean environment rather than on the bean.
Thorough washing and density sorting produce the Excelso EP grade — European Preparation, the cleanest screen.
Parchment dries slowly at altitude, then rests before milling, which protects the florals in the cup.

A profile roasters build their menus around.
Colombian coffee is one of the world's most admired origins for a simple reason: it is both distinctive and dependable. Bright acidity, layered sweetness and elegant floral notes arrive in a cup that almost everyone can drink and enjoy.
Cattleya is crafted specifically to give roasters that reliability from harvest to harvest — the reason it appears in several of our coffees. It is the coffee we reach for when a blend needs lift and definition without losing balance.
The most-used coffee on our shelf.
Colombian goes into more of our blends than any other origin — Latin Blend, Barista Choice and Café House all lean on it. On its own, it is the one to start with if you like brightness.
