Generations of agricultural tradition.
L53 Family Estates is built on generations of agricultural tradition, and represents a commitment to quality, sustainability and the enduring craft of Nicaraguan coffee production.
Through thoughtful farm management, selective harvesting and meticulous washed processing, the team consistently produces coffees that reflect both the character of the land and the care behind every harvest. For roasters, that translates into a traceable, dependable Strictly High Grown lot that delivers the same quality year after year.
For the 2026 harvest we selected two containers of this regional lot, chosen for a balanced profile that holds up across a wide range of roast styles. That versatility is exactly why it shows up in several of our blends as well as on its own.

Built for reliability.
Nothing about this lot is exotic. Everything about it is repeatable — which for a roaster is worth more.
Cherries are picked ripe, in passes, rather than stripped in one go — the first decision that sets the cup.
Careful fermentation and washing produce the clean, refined finish this lot is bought for.
Strictly High Grown, European Preparation: high altitude, tightest defect screen.
We taste and select at container level for the harvest, so the profile our customers know does not drift.

The quiet workhorse of the shelf.
Whether featured as a single origin or built into a blend, L53 offers reliability and cup quality a roaster can plan around. It is the base we reach for when a blend needs body and balance without a strong opinion of its own.
You will find it in Barista Choice, Breakfast Blend, Cold Brew Blend and our Espresso — more blends than any coffee except Colombian. It earns that place by never being the problem.
Balanced, clean, endlessly drinkable.
Nicaragua is the safest recommendation we make, in the best sense. Smooth body, gentle citrus lift, clean finish — good as drip, good under milk, good iced.
